It is possible to add a custom link in the ListView and call the
API using JavaScript.

You could do this with javascript which adds a button where
needed and makes use of your reporting softwares API.
However I would still recommend doing as we do and use php
in between the button and the api call in order to check the
user is actually authenticated properly against vtiger.
