[Vtigercrm-developers] How to extend feature such as Global Search without core modifications ?

I agree with you. But core changes in vtiger are not being made and even if
we did them ourselves, they would be deferred until everyone forgot about
them. So if we want to do it the vtiger way, it has to be a module. Fully
separated.
Unless vtiger is going to turn 180 degrees in their way of treating this
abandoned child "vtiger open source", I don't see a chance of adding this to
the core. 
Your search has obviously become quite powerful, but I think for now we will
be happy if the search is just a global one on all fields, your extra
features would be nice, but can't have everything at once with vtiger.

Yes, I agree to a certain degree, I also get the feeling that vtiger has
become quite a money making machine for some people who understand it very
well and that's why they are not complaining and not changing much about the
circumstances because it might have effect on the profit. But not all of the
vtiger experts are like that. There are still some experts around here who
are believers and have the right mind set... I guess that's why I'm still
around.
