Hi Stephen,
Thanks for the reply.
I also have to old style framework running on a number of sites but the new project is Joomla! 1.5/vtiger 5.1 based so I decided to create a new add on using the web services. It is all looking good apart from the trouble ticket messages as they are not setup in the web service by default (as far as I can see). I am working on adding this.

Stephen, John,
We've been using the framework that Matt Brichacek developed a couple of years back. We've got it working on Joomla 1.0.15 and vTiger 5.0.4, and integrated into Community Builder. It's not perfect, and there is still things we'd like to build into it, but it does work.
John - In particular, look at the SOAP API code. Once it is installed and operational, there is quite a bit you can build on top of it as a result of the work that Matt did with the vFields plugin. It might be what you ned.
I've just submitted our build of all the components to the vTiger extensions directory so that others can grab it from there.
If you want to take a look at the code, I've popped it onto our server here:

See vtiger-joomla-integration-overview.txt for very basic install instructions and sample code for putting a lead generation form into a content item.
Thanks,
Brett

Same ideas different mode of implimentation. Are you aware of this Joomla/Vtiger module? You may want to implement your changes here.

As for me, I think I would prefer the customer portal.

Hi Stephen,
I think we are on similar paths.
My project is to create a replacement for the portal for use with Mambo/Joomla! websites I need to allow for the adding off comments on tickets for example.

That is a good question, I am looking to allow users to access some information in their contact record to update their address and other custom fields we've added.
I was thinking that it probably should be implemented in the customer portal so that it's behind a login.
Were you considering something like this? Any comments on implementation from the group?

Hi All,
Is it possible to send a query to vtiger via the web services that can retrieve/update records in a table rather than an actual object?
Many Thanks
