[Vtigercrm-developers] Variable not parsed on outgoing mail from mailtemplates?

I'm setting up an email template for new leads signing up via web-form
(like "hi there thanks for signing up").

And in my template, I wanted to use their firstname, but somehow this is
not working?

Hi $leads-firstname$,

bla bla bla

Best,


Any clues why? Basically it just does not parse the $leads-firstname$ part,
so the actual mail sent out looks like the above.
