This is an acceptable opinion but I think your statement is incorrect. You
can not say: "it will be released when 
we deem it to be ready." At least if you pretend to be serious. Did you ever
seen a big company saying this? I didn’t. 

Meet the project deadlines is a general demand of every company. I can
understand lot of people is putting some much pressure in the release but
you are in the other extreme opposite side.

The companies should accomplish the project deadlines. I'm sorry, but this
is the TRUTH. If don’t, the product loses value and credit even if it's the
best product ever made.

Finally, sorry for my English and don’t take it personally. We all hope VT6
as soon as possible :):):)

Why does everyone get so hung up on release dates?

If vtiger was my company our policy would be "it will be released when 
we deem it to be ready."

vtiger have been very clear that the code available right now is *not* 
ready for production, yet we see loads of requests for advice from 
people who have clearly done exactly that.

We have lots of vtiger customers and we have not even started 
discussions on VT6 with them very much at all. And we won't until it is 
released... We'll probably not offer any migrations until 6.0.1 or later 
anyway.

Just my thoughts on this frequently occurring question ;-)
