[Vtigercrm-developers] Vtiger 7 Features (preliminary list)

Vtiger's reputation directly influences YetiForce's reputation. If
someone doesn't consider Vtiger good enough, they won't be interested in
its fork either.

Commercial modules are harmful to open source community, because they
are not additional modules [for example integrations with ERP system,
store integrations, solutions dedicated for a particular business, and
so on] but the majority of them fills the gaps in Vtiger's elementary
features. The community should add these features to the core, instead
of making money on them.

You're right, my posts show how YetiForce develops, but is it really
something so wrong? Maybe this could be the reason for the Vtiger team
to start developing the CE version, just like they used to do a few
years ago. I want to pressure them to start making some effort again.

Let me give you an example: right now we're adding a multi database
support [MySQL, PostgreSQL, MsSQL, MariaDB, Oracle etc] mechanism. The
cost of doing that is 25.000EUR . Is it wrong for me to announce it on
Vtiger's mailing list, if this - and many other features - can be easily
added to Vtiger as well? Engines are similar, licenses are the same, the
only difference between Vtiger and YetiForce is the amount of work and
energy, and I'm trying to "infect" you with all the work and energy. But
you keep showing that so many people can do so little.

> Blazej, when I advertise module I give an information to community that have possibility to resolve a problem with my module. I resolve lot of lack of vtiger with third part modules. It's vtiger model that it's working in this way, you can not appreciate this model, I can understand, but it's the way how vtiger open source it's working.
> To be honest my message was addressed first of all to people that is talking about suiteCRM migration. I think it's not a topic to discuss in vtiger list. And to be honest your graph seems more an advertise to your product that an element of discussion. You know I'm interested to see how yeti growth up, but this is Vtiger list and I think it's correct to use this list to talk about Vtiger.
