it could be anonymised, in the marketplace you could give the buyer a 
token for each purchase, (just a random string) so they could log on and 
see their purchases and tokens along with invoices. The buyer could then 
use the token to request support/validate an install with the extension 
author. The authors would just need a marketplace facility to confirm 
that a token is for a valid purchase. Basically the same as forwarding 
the receipt, but more technical. Can't say I am a fan of encrypted or 
obfuscated modules at all (I like to have the ability to audit every 
line of running code) but giving the buyer a means to demonstrate to the 
author that they are a paying customer would be useful for a number of 
scenarios.
