[Vtigercrm-developers] Function vtws_revise creates an incorrect history entry

So I'm trying to do further troubleshooting. Here's what I've done:

1. Created a standalone script to update a single custom field for a lead.
Ran this script - it worked!
2. Using the same functionality, created another script that updates a field
for my custom module. Ran the script - the results were the same. I am able
to update all fields apart from the custom Related To field.

So my question is:

a. Are we able to use the vtws_revise function to modify the information in
a custom related to field? If so how?
b. If not, can someone provide me with some example code to modify the data
directly in the tables using php and myssql?

Details required to perform b. above are:

table = vtiger_apartments
relatedto field = cf_1083
example original value in field = 3311 (a contact - wsid = 12x3311)
required value after update = removed (or changed as well)

Alternatively, just let me know I'm asking too many questions and tell me to
continue to try and figure it out on my own .

Thanks for any help, Paddy
