You are right Tim. Integrating with 3rd-party service APIs is a possibility.

Due to limitations on dispatching and integrated experience imposed by
3rd-party services
we had to home-grow Email campaign service for our Cloud edition. This has
been working well for us.
This service is tightly coupled with our cloud infrastructure and our
development is focused on it
than other connectors.
