[Vtigercrm-developers] Why can't i do like this in vtiger/modules/vtiger/actions/save.php ?

Hi,
      I am writing like this
$result = $adb->query("SELECT cf_1577 FROM vtiger_eservices WHERE asset =
13012 and cf_1606 = 'Service Done'");
 in vtiger/modules/vtiger/actions/save.php

Why my webpage stops working?
