Hi all and a Happy New Year!

This is mostly a request to the vtiger devs about what we should be
expecting and planning for in 2016...

* I have a bit of a problem with the way the new layout (version 7) was
implemented on the On-Demand platform which has broken GeoTools (it
still is broken BTW) and probably other 3rd Party modules too. This is a
learning experience for all parties so I hope we can all work together
to make sure that these kind of updates and changes are implemented and
communicated in a better way going forward. If vtiger want 3rd party
modules available in the Marketplace for the On-Demand system (and I
have several customers using GeoTools who were not happy about the
layout changes) then the 3rd party developers will need access to
system(s) running the same code as On-Demand. I see no easy way around
this... Maybe you need to extend the partner programme to allow access?
Or you make the On-Demand platform codebase open source too - I doubt it
will affect your revenue stream very much at all. In fact it would
almost certainly be a benefit for customers who want to move from
On-Demand to Open Source or vice-versa in the future.

* What are the release plans for vtiger Open Source through 2016? Any
new features we need to be learning about or planning for *before* release?

* How is the new code.vtiger.com site working out? Personally it seems
to be a big improvement and some of our suggested fixes are actually
being committed to the repo - which is a major step forward. How can we
_all_ make the system work for us even better?

* I'm getting a few customers starting to use the Outlook plugin and
coming across limitations bugs etc. There is basically nothing we can do
about this as it is closed source. How can this situation be improved?

* Anything else?

We (Libertus Solutions) are looking forward to successful 2016 working
with vtiger - the Product and the Company :-)

Cheers

Al
