[Vtigercrm-developers] 6.1 upgrade from 5.4 - clean up of files

I have noticed I have a lot of junk files left from my 5.4 installation 
inside of the 6.1 folder after an update.

Can someone confirm if it is safe / workable for me to:

  * Upgrade from 5.4 to 6.1
  * Create new HTML root directory
  * Copy files from a fresh 6.1 install to the new directory
  * Copy over config from my updated version
  * Copy over storage folder
  * Reinstall custom modules

Or will I now be missing files which are created during installation 
based on records (seems unlikely)?
