[Vtigercrm-developers] Preview of New Marketplace (Portal) for Extensions

Creating an account in the store requires the username to be an email address. Bit strange and besides that , there is no mentioning of that. It asks for a ‘desired’ username….
If only the email address is needed , I see no reason to ask for it again as username.

now I can rate also if I didn't buy the extension. I think rating have to be limited to buyer...

One more thing is installing store extension :-) I believe many users don't know what is CLI and have no access to terminal
as they are on shared environment. Worth consideration

What we would like to see is the possibility to try extensions before buy. It means that in store developers
should have an option to expose link to online public profile with installed extension.
I am also scared of prices. Some guys now charging crazy money for simple things - in my opinion this should be stimulated somehow.
Another thing is services - I would like to give a chance to some developers to sell hours/service packages. It may help some less qualified users (like Andrew).

Limitations

  1.  External plugins are not yet accepted on the marketplace (ex: Thunderbird plugin, Outlook plugin). We will soon be addressing this

Extension Loader is required on  CRM server

To install extensions through the Store in the CRM,  Vtiger PHP Extension Loader will need to be installed. This is a proprietary php-extension that helps to protect the php source files of extension.

NOTE: The php-extension binary (*.so, *.dll) is made freely available for different OS and PHP versions. If you don't find a suitable one - please send us an email.
