In an attempt to fix our issue with deleting Contacts, we grabbed the latest from SourceForge and installed with a new database.  We were able to delete Contacts.  We switch the database setting in the config.inc.php file to our existing database and we were able to delete Contacts!  Everything was looking good.  Then we started getting calls from users who could no longer login.  We kept getting the above mentioned error.  It seems the only way to "fix" this is to go into every user through the website and update either the timezone or the date format setting and hit save.  While doing this, we noticed that if you had tried to login and received the error, the next time you try to logon while a user who has been fixed is logged in, the login page does not display and you are now logged in as the user who has been fixed.  We had to clear the cache of each user after all were "fixed" to get back to normal.  Seems like a huge security issue.  Anyone else seeing anything similar?

We already checked the root directory path and it is correct
$root_directory = '/var/www/vtigercrm_6/';
