[Vtigercrm-developers] vtiger_attachments vs vtiger_notes?

Think vtiger_notes is the table for document module and vtiger_attachments is for file attachments

What's the meaning of the difference between the vtiger_attachments and 
the vtiger_notes tables in the database?

Both seem to hold attachments...

I need to get all attached files for a given entity record, e.g. Lead or 
Account and am not sure where I need to be checking?
