Hi Sreenivas and the vtiger team,

I am relatively new to Vtiger but I have already read a lot about it (including blog articles on the net, lots of forum messages and these messages, to name a few sources...) and as far as I can see, you would be able to develop a lot better product if you could somehow utilize the community's help.

A lot of talented developers have already quit Vtiger development, people who have already rewritten a lot of modules (e.g..: e-mail module) and many others are struggling to help you (another example: http://lists.vtigercrm.com/pipermail/vtigercrm-developers/2012-May/022238.html).

You have probably read this article and its comments:
http://www.rdlt.com/why-vtiger-sucks.html

Why can't you accept a helping hand? It would make your life a lot easier I think, leading to a lot better Vtiger than we have today. Open Source shouldn't just mean letting people download the code to do whatever they want to do with it. You should organize the core development team in a way that it includes all the talented volunteers who can really help the development.

I intended this criticism to be a positive one, please take it as such :)

keek up the otherwise good work,
Szabesz

We will be looking into some of these critical patches after releasing the vtiger6 alpha code (anytime now). Some of the patches might not be necessary anymore with vtiger6. We will seek your help in porting prior submissions to vtiger6, if necessary
