[Vtigercrm-developers] outlook-2.1 plugin install woes

Hi all,

I've been trying the new Outlook extension but on both my Windows 
Virtual Machines (XP & Windows 7) the install of the plugin seems to 
work but the Outlook plugin is never enabled.

In the Tools->Trust Centre-> Add-ins menu it always ends up in the 
Inactive Applications section I'm not able to get it to work by 
selecting it, clicking Go and checking the box. It stays in the Inactive 
App section and the toolbar never appears.

However, I came across this thread and post on the forum:

Which, following the instructions makes it work on XP.

But this is very involved sequence and one that I'm unlikely to ask my 
customer to do.

Surely this doesn't seem right?

We don't really use Windows in-house much and I am certainly no expert 
with it but there must be a better way to package this so it works on 
install surely?
