Am I being thick?

When I send an email from vtiger why do I not get a copy of that email 
put in my *sent* folder? Instead I get a mail in my *inbox* sent to 
myself! This is not an accurate record of what has just been mailed as 
it does not show to whom the email was actually sent.

I'm sure other webmail systems seem to be able to do this correctly. 
Using IMAP4 I think most email clients actually just send a copy of the 
mail to the "sent" folder of the IMAP server. Presumably something 
similar happens with MAPI for Outlook?

Whilst I'm on the subject of emails, I've also noticed that Thunderbird 
thinks mails from vtiger are spam, probably due to the 1px tracking gif 
attached the email.

Final question on this one... Is it really necessary and/or wise to 
transmit vtiger's app_key in plain text like that?
