Multiple mail accounts and off-line functionality are what beats most
web-based mail interfaces.
As it happens, the TB updates so far have not required much code change
- very little in fact. But each release requires, testing, updating the
install.rdf and update.rdf files, re-signing the xpi and a few other
bits of housekeeping. Then updating the forge and then the vtiger
marketplace.
I'd really like to get on and fix a few bugs and add some new features
but time is quite short right now.
There is one major bit of work that would ultimately make life easier
and spread TB further; get it accepted onto the Mozilla Add-ons site.
They automatically test for each release compatibility and I would not
have to sign the extension manually either.
The problem is, to be accepted, the whole extension needs re-factoring
to encapsulate all the code to prevent namespace pollution. (Whilst that
is going on I think some general clean ups and improvements could also
be done).
Ideally this is the first job that should be done before adding any new
features. Anyone with decent Javascript skills fancy helping?
The last two 6-weekly update releases have been downloaded over 400
times each (this does *not* include automatic updates) so it is quite a
popular extension...
Cheers
Al
