[Vtigercrm-developers] vtiger 5.10 extending Calendar module for Google?

Hi all,

A quick question...

I have installed the vgcal module from the forge and tested it very 
briefly in 5.10. The basic functionality it offers seems to work.

I would like to investigate extending this Google Calendar integration 
to add some more features and some user-level configuration.

Am I correct in assuming that I should be:

1. using the vtlib api to create a new module,

2. building an Extension Module rather than a Entity Module (some more 
detail on building an Extension module would be nice - the vtlib docs 
don't really cover it to any depth),

I am unsure as to which module I need to extend however. The 
functionality clearly belongs as part of the Calendar module but the 
configuration needs to be in the Users Module (a bit like the PBXManager 
in that it has a block in the user's config/preferences screen).

Any basic guidance to get me started greatly appreciated.
