[Vtigercrm-developers] Write addons / modules

Hi
 From what I have seen most of the components on the vtigerforge need to 
replace existing files or patch them .. If this don't go as planned 
things break , It also means upgrading can be a problem.. Is there a 
better way of writing components, so that they could me modules that are 
simply uploaded and are registered in a config or the database ?
