 Looks like this might be a migration problem.

 The customer's vtiger is a migrated 6.0.0 -> 6.1.0

 I just tested on a clean 6.1.0 and the search filter works as I would
 expect. Any ideas what might have broken on the import and where to look?

 See attached screenshot for what they are seeing.
