<div dir="ltr">I think the answer is yes. They will allow us to implement things. I've implemented features in the past that have been merged.<div>But I feel the thing right now is that they are not really devoting enough human resources to do it.</div><div><br></div><div>Uma and Prasad have been pretty much absent in the past few months. I'm not sure whether they are working on something related to the open source project or not. It would be pretty useful to have a clear sense of what's going on in the project, generally speaking. But the fact is: I have really no idea.</div><div><br></div><div>I was talking about YetiForce because I have seen them do daily commits and by looking at the source code, just at first glance, it really looks cleaner (there are studies that show that code cleanliness regarding indentation, naming conventions, etc., is inversely correlated to bugs. The cleaner the code, the less bugs you'll find). In the case of vtiger, the commits are very sparse. However, it seems that Vtiger's user base is still larger than that of Yeti. If you take a look at the weekly downloads in sourceforge, Vtiger is above 1K, wherass Yeti is below 100. In my particular case I would have to migrate many modules that I've been developing over the years, and that's what really stops me from switching.</div><div><br></div><div>Angelo, you say you tried other options. What stops you from switching?</div><div><br></div><div>I would be very interested in hearing other opinions. <div>I fully agree with you.</div>
<div>Unfortunately my journey in

I can, so I ask Vtiger staff to allow me in the code

<div>Hi @all, this is the current status of
vtiger open source , in my point of view:</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>I had quite a few customers who simply
ran away from vtiger open source because of the bugs
and lack useful features vtiger competitors already
have out of the box.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div><b>You may think they ran away
from vtiger open source to vtiger on demand, but
no, because of the bad experience they don’t trust
vtiger brand anymore and go to Vtiger competitors.</b></div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>You may think again, we as developers,
can get paid for fixing bugs and for introducing
custom modules, or even module replacements, but in
the long game this is plain wrong even from an
economic point of view, because bugs and lack of
basic features scare away very good customers, those
with big deals and big ideas to implement in a crm
project. </div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>
<div>Vtiger open source customers are not
the same customers who buy vtiger cloud
subscription, even if on <a href="http://vtiger.com/" target="_blank">vtiger.com</a> the access
to opensource download is almost hidden!</div>

that for Apple to win, Microsoft has to lose." -

<div><br>
</div>
<div><b>I think this quote can be
rewritten like this: vtiger open source doesn’t
have to suck so vtiger cloud can win, because we
can both win.</b></div>
</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>This email is not just a way to complain
pointlessly, the objective is to invite vtiger
community and vtiger team to take action together!</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>STEP 1:</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>If you, vtiger team, don’t have time to
merge bug fixes, engage in conversations with vtiger
community on git, review and merge new
functionalities as fast as they come on git,</div>
<div>just let us do it, please.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>STEP 2:</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Vtiger community please submit on git
all bugs you want to get fixed, all the features you
think could help develop vtiger extending modules
instead of replacing vtiger modules, anything to
help closing the gap between vtiger open source and
its competitors.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>STEP 3:</div>
<div>vtiger community please help with
development of anything set in STEP 2, if I fix
something and you fix something else we both win,
it’s the same for new functionalities.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>So, @all what do you think?</div>
