<p><span>@Simone – There's nobody to add changes, because those who wanted to do that simply quit [CoreBOS, VTE CRM, YetiForce], and those who stayed are focusing on commercial modules. We (in the OpenSaaS days) sent a few modules to Vtiger to be added to the system [we did our best, the code wasn't ideal for sure], unfortunately we never got any feedback, no info what to fix so that they could become a part of the system. We also sent a bunch of code [I remember we once sent a pack that fixed 12 Google Calendar synchronization errors], unfortunately nobody paid attention to that. So what do you really expect after 10 years of ignoring?</span></p>

<p><span>@Alan – For a long long time I was trying to avoid a native app. We added Bootstrap 3 support, we added responsiveness, etc. Unfortunately there are certain clients and projects that require an independent app. A good example of that would be POS [Point Of Sale], that had to work offline, because the restaurants are inside trains, and there is no internet connection there. HTML5 apps that work offline are significantly limited, and some browsers [especially mobile ones] don't support them at all. That's why we wrote the app in ionic. You can see the final effect in the attachments, the app is used to sync orders, stock, products, it also provides a clear touch panel.</span></p>

<p><span>@All – In my opinion only dedicated apps make sense, you cant transfer entire vtiger to a mobile app, because nobody has time for that, it's a project for 20.000-40.000 hours, and it requires different experts than a web app requires. The majority of basic elements, like calendar, contacts, notifications – they don't need any apps, because it's enough to use the existing solutions like CalDAV and CardDAV. For the remaining solutions decent API would be enough [especially if someone wants to expand the system with EDI integration]</span> </p>
