In my opinion you have done wrong. Why?

You use a ten-year architecture (from 6 months is new)

You create Vtiger fork (it takes a lot of people and a lot of time, How many programmers You have (3-5?)? You need 15 and a lot of money).

We have OSSMail (like yours coreBOSMail), which has more options and is 100% integrated with Vtiger (modifying only 3 system files in version 6.1 will not have to modify any).

LTS is expensive to maintain and slows the progression! (for large customers we offer SLAs for versions 5.4).

Currently we have 30 working modules for Vtiger 6. Our company began to migrate to version 6 over 9 months ago! We understand your decisions, but making a mistake that you do this on version 5.4 and not 6.0.

And what would happen if our common system was developed by Team Vtiger (Vtiger 6), and companies like yours and my (&others), have joined forces (how will work mail module, if we built it together with VTIGER TEAM)?.

Hi,

I agree, in major part I am totally with you. There has been a LOT
of debating going on around here before we took this step.
I understand your programmers (I am one) and that is fine with me.
I encourage you to continue to support VT6, that is the way to go.
We are catering to the part of community and users who want to
push VT5 a little further, we want to control our destiny.

coreBOS WILL have something special, give us a little time, we
just started :-)
Hello,

This post is to announce the creation of the coreBOS
project. coreBOS starts from the rich inheritance of
vtiger CRM 5.4. with intention to give support to the big
user and developer base for 5.x.

During the birth of this project the first name that was
given to it was vt5LTS, borrowing the name from Ubuntu,
that stands for vtiger CRM 5 Long Time Support, but we
didn't want to conflict with vtiger name branding nor
create conflict in any way in the developer and user
community. Also we understand that we will quickly drift
away from vtiger CRM line of action and be something else,
so we thought that the name didn't make justice to all the
potential we see in the project and where we want to take
it. We saw a near future where coreBOS would have it's own
merits and reasons to stand tall for it's own right so we
gave it a name and started our adventure.

We aren't creating this project out of disrespect or
spite, we do not have a bad relation with the vtiger
company nor with the community, we plan to keep investing
time in vtiger CRM 6 and future releases, although it will
be less than what we have done for the 5.x branch.

In fact I have to admit that I like a lot of things I see
in vtiger CRM 6 and will most probably downgrade some of
them, I think vtiger is going down the right track with
VT6 and with the change in community support of the past
weeks (incredible!!).
