Hi Alan,

Thanks for your valuable feedback.

Please check my comments inline on your comments:

1. The tarball of the vtiger 5.4 source extracts, on Linux, with
everything as 777 (rwxrwxrwx)! There is no need to do this and it is bad
practice and it is opening up the system to security issues.

There are only a few directories and files that need to have write
permissions at all (and only to the process owner, normally the apache
process), the only files which need to be executable are the bash cron
scripts (although even that isn't totally necessary as they could be
loaded by a bash shell.

I agree. We will ensure to set right permissions on the packages during our upcoming releases.

2. I sent Srihari an updated language pack on the 1st March for 5.4.0.
It isn't the one supplied in the RC tarball. Afterwarrds I was told
about the changes to Potentials and Accounts. Which was a major piece of
work due to the spelling of organisation. I spent an age doing the
language pack changes on http://labs.vtiger.in/i18n/ but this doesn't
seem to be running anymore. Please can you send me the British language
pack from the http://labs.vtiger.in/i18n/ so I can update it where
necessary? I do not have the time to do that whole job from scratch again.

You are right. We have not packaged any of the updated language packs with 5.4.0 RC yet. We are looking forward to package them with 5.4.0 GA.

We will soon share the updated language pack to you from http://labs.vtiger.in/i18n.

3. From a quick test it looks like bug
http://trac.vtiger.com/cgi-bin/trac.cgi/ticket/7240 might have been
fixed but there is no mention of anything being done on the TRAC record.
Has it been fixed?

You are right again. This issue has been fixed with 5.4.0. I have close this now.

We are slowly reviewing the trac tickets and closing them accordingly. Possibly missed some issues like this one.

4. The new Report graphs can get really confusing when you play with the
group-by settings. I think it really needs a separate selection for X &
Y labels etc...

We understand your concern. We have noted down your suggestion. Will schedule it as and when possible.

--
Regards,
Asha
vtiger Team
