We also wrote a back end "synchonizer" program. Mostly for the CRM /
Order Entry process, just product availability by location -- we added
several location (warehouse) fields. If you're looking for product
availability by serial number in the CRM, that would be more complex.
We track however alot of other inventory status' by using highly
formatted "notes" entries.<br>

It's a case of the right tool for the purpose -- a CRM app is not an
ERP app -- so the fine level of detail is not its' purpose, but doing
cusotmer service / taking orders, tracking leads etc. is it's purpose.<br>

But how did you solve the serial number issue with the CRM inventory
mechanism ? <br>
I can probably sync our local inventory system to vTiger CRM, but if
the vTiger CRM inventory reports will not be useful, and its not easy
to use the inventory information in other entities (such as sales and
invoices), then its kind of useless to me - we can just as easily
continue to use our inventory system w/o integration and scribble
serial numbers by hand on the invoices.
