Not exactly, but I know how it can be achieved.
In the eventhandler you have to check what has changed. Then, create
records in the correct vtiger table to display the changes in the updates
section of the record. In one of our modules we track changes to the line
items. Not to display them in the updates but to avoid certain kinds of
updates.
