[Vtigercrm-developers] Does the "Reports To" field in users have any function?

Hi all,

Does the "Reports To" field found under users actually have any function?

Ie. I can of course select another user to remember that he/she reports to
this user, but is there any other "real" functionality related to this?

Could the boss, as an example, see all the subordinates' records, etc?
