So does that mean there is no logging available currently?
If the log4php library is not being used anymore, has it been removed? The fact that log4php.properties is still present would imply not.
Any plans to replace it with a more up-to-date logging package? If not then I’d absolutely suggest monolog (https://github.com/Seldaek/monolog)

Debug mode was abandoned because the library was inadequate and vulnerable to attacks.

This is a bit weird.

I have a new install of vtiger 8.0.0 on a new Ubuntu 22.04 server. All
seems to be fine apart from I can't get the thing to create the
logs/vtigercrm.log file...

Has the way it is enabled been changed?

I've enabled logging in config.performance.php and changed FATAL to
DEBUG in log4php.properties...

No errors are being reported anywhere I can see.

Any ideas?
