[Vtigercrm-developers] Project templates - or duplicate/clone a full project structure?

I did as nilay suggested - used a project type picklist and separate
workflows for each type. It works, but is tedious to build if you have lots
of types and tasks, and it isn't easily portable to other instances. I was
looking forward to other options for assigning tasks in v7 and found some
other things that I will miss - you don't get to add more fields and values
to the task through the workflow, I only got the basics - name, assigned
to, due date (which used to give options for how you wanted to calculate
dates), description.

vTiger 7.4 (upgraded from 6.5). I think I have other things to sort out
before I say it's native, because I've not reactivated all my modules or
extensions. I get a blank page when I save a new project with a type that
didn't have any workflows and the task didn't get created. When create a
project type that already had a workflow to create tasks, same blank page,
and when I refreshed the page, I got the home page and going to the project
I had all the tasks expected. Editing the workflow showed the task type was
to create a record, not to create a task, and it gave me all the options of
adding fields and values I get from 6.5.

I'll try on a clean install and see what happens.

Just letting people know this is a workable option for project templates.
