Following that thought on – would it be worth updating the readme.md file to state what version of PHP the code has been tested against, and might also be a useful location to specify the external libraries and versions etc that are used ?

Can you confirm (and possibly worth adding to the documentation somewhere) which versions of Smarty  / AdoDB that it has been upgraded to ?
Smarty looks like 3.1.39?

Today we pushed core changes to master to make Installation work smooth on PHP 8.
This should help us find other runtime behaviour that need fixes soon.
