[Vtigercrm-developers] WebServiceException: Database error while performing requested operation

I'm creating inventory records using vtws_create() in Vtiger 7.3. I
randomly get the error:

Excepcion *WebServiceException*: Database error while performing requested
operation

The error occurs here:

When I look into the invoice through the  UI, it has no line items.

The database is fairly large (I have 1.2 million invoices).

I feel Vtiger shouldn't allow this inconsistency. Upon such an error it
should rollback and not leave half-created records.

Any tips on how to fix this?
