[Vtigercrm-developers] Override product inventory?

We’ve always tell clients that if you want to track stock of the item, then it’s a Product. If you don’t then it’s a Service.
Yes something might be a ‘consumable product’ in name/terminology, but ignore the terminology and if you want it to work like a Service, then just make it a Service.
You can always change the names ‘Service’ & ‘Product’ to something else that fits better if that’s still too confusing for Users 😉

I did not think of that, so yes, that could perhaps be a "hack".
But still weird that its not possible. I'm considering writing something that will solve it, just not 100% sure what would be best "generically"

But I do agree - in other systems I have seen there is the concept of a
"consumable" product. This basically means you always have some in stock
and inventory is not managed by the ERP system. (Think packing tape or
pens or something...).
