[Vtigercrm-developers] Edit view - related list

We did it for one client and it was horrible. The main issue we came across
was they actually wanted to see related lists when CREATING a record (so
edit view but with no record existing yet) so that they could add related
records to a record they had not saved yet. The solution was to
automatically save a new record whenever someone went to create a new
record, so the related records could be saved correctly (and be correctly
linked to the record they were still creating). This caused massive
problems when someone went to create a new record , but then cancelled out
(or in worse case scenario, just navigated away from the page
without saving or cancelling) leaving lots of orphan automatically created
records that had to be deleted.
We also added the related lists as Blocks in the Edit view rather than
trying to recreate the tabs etc across the top.
So it's possible, but not advisable.
