Hmm,

I'm not sure I get how this would work? I can't change the Profile as a 
user depending on if I am creating a new record or editing an existing 
one. Individual field access is configured irrespective of the user's 
Edit/Create/View/Delete values - I only need one particular field to be 
read-only, or hidden, after the record is created. That is kind of what 
displaytype 4 does with password fields...
