[Vtigercrm-developers] How to prevent going to the "overlay" Detail View from Related list?

A customer wants to go straight to the DetailView of the target record 
when they click on a row in a related list...

Looking at Vtiger_Detail_js.registerRelatedRowClickEvent() there is a 
lot of code dedicated to using the overlay mode.

What is the best way to stop this from happening without breaking other 
stuff?
