[Vtigercrm-developers] How to use MariaDB instead of MySql

Hi Alan

It's probably a config setting that caused mysql to fail in its backup

Previously I have had similar from not having "max_allowed_packet" set to a large enough size. If the db has blobs greater than the default (I can't recall what the default is) it will silently fail.

The default on MariaDB may be larger and thus your backup doesn't fail.

Chris

it just works, I am using it on several vtiger instances, the mysqldump backup works better in mariadb than mysql (I found an 11GB database that has been silently stalling it's backup at 330MB for years, works fine in mariadb)
