Hi,

Detail explanation regarding this process of saving data and displaying
data according to user preference is not possible.

Please follow code debugging to understand this.

I mean in contacts detail view date is displayed as user preferred format
in my preferences, this you can understand by tracing detail view flow of
contacts module. which you should looking code from
modules/Contacts/views/Detail.php.

In any flow if particular class or file not exist it fall-back to vtiger.

Hope this tips might help you in understanding the flow completely.
