thanks for your quick reply. 

In my php.ini file:
error_reporting = E_WARNING & ~E_NOTICE
display_errors = On

PHP version: PHP 5.3.10-1ubuntu3.14 with Suhosin-Patch (cli)

And as you know, the error message is pasted here:
