So at what point through the migration did the process stop?

If you cut & paste the text from the browser window into a file, you 
should be able to work out where in the 600_to_610.php schema file the 
process stopped.

If you are getting saving errors it sounds very much like the process 
never got the end.

At the very bottom of the screen (in red) you should see something like

"6.0.0 ==> 6.1.0 Database changes -- Ends."

If you don't see that text then the migration script never finished 
properly. If you do see that, then you have an altogether different 
problem ;-)
