[Vtigercrm-developers] Preview of New Marketplace (Portal) for Extensions

I am excited to share a preview of the new marketplace with you. Here
is a Quick
Overview for Marketplace

The new Marketplace is integrated with the Extensions Store inside Vtiger
CRM
<http://community.vtiger.com/help/vtigercrm/marketplace/about-extension-store.html>
 (6.1 and later) to allow users to install apps with 1-click. Users can
also browse and find extensions by visiting to marketplace.vtiger.com. The
new marketplace brings the following features.

*For Developers*

>From Marketplace, Developers can

   1. Publish commercial / free extensions for open source and on demand
   users.
   2. Keep track downloads and revenue
   3. Encrypt and Lock extensions to a device

*For Users*

   1. Users can search and find extension from within the CRM or on the Web.
   2. Users can rate and review extensions
   3. Users can try the extensions for free for 1 week.

Limitations

   1. External plugins are not yet accepted on the marketplace (ex:
   Thunderbird plugin, Outlook plugin). We will soon be addressing this

*Extension Loader is required on  CRM server*

To install extensions through the Store in the CRM,  Vtiger PHP Extension
Loader will need to be installed. This is a proprietary php-extension that
helps to protect the php source files of extension.

*NOTE: The php-extension binary (*.so, *.dll) is made freely available for
different OS and PHP versions. If you don't find a suitable one - please
send us an email.*
