Hi Alan,

Thank you for the reply.

What would you set this too in reference below?

I'm using this field as a system generated value from another module so
i.e. a Contact record is created and then another record say Service
Contract is created.

But if that Service Contract Record is edited for any reason I want the
system to still honour that uneditable value.

I know that some display types are used for this purpose and a function is
called to fill in the blanks. Such as modified time.

Hope that makes sense.
