[Vtigercrm-developers] UIType 6 fix?

I have a custom vtlib module. Customer wants to have some form of event 
management on this module.

The Calendar is so screwed up I really can't be bothered to try and fix 
it so it can be used with vtlib modules...

So I thought "I know, I'll use a UItype 6 field and write my own cron 
code to test/alert on that".

#Fail.

UIType 6 doesn't save - Always end up with null in the database. It 
displays fine though; if I write directly into the table...

Anyone fixed UIType 6 so it can be used? Or have an alternative 
solution? I'm not keen on using a type 5 (Date) and a separate type 14 
(Time) field BTW...
