The requirement is an integrated backup, driven by a scheduled process, taking content, of defined types, folder, db, et al, per a known schema / structure.

It is an exercise of dump via a configured model to transfer content, wholesale or incremental to the backup area.

PHP provides all infrastructure to achieve this. 

There is a case to embed the vtiger data storage schema (db++) into the backup model and have a phooll-phleghed as we say (!)  ( full fledged ) module for this objective.
