That's a fairly big piece of work to make it user-configurable.

We've done something similar using vtlib and customising the module's 
Class and/or creating view tables in mysql to show, for example, 
available capacity based on one table's column values minus another.

But we've not even thought about making this sort of thing 
user-configurable.
