Not for me. I grabed the svn as an "export" (it won't work as a 
"checkout" because of the various checkFileAccess() functions). Of 
course you must then chown the whole tree to be owned by the web 
process. For Ubuntu I just run

# sudo chown -R www-data:www-data vt6/
