Dear Team,

vtigerCRM 5.0.4 validation build is now available for testing. We have
addressed critical, major issues and minor enhancements after vtigerCRM
5.0.4 RC release.

We request our community to extend support in testing this build and provide
us valuable feedbacks.

During testing kindly focus on:
* UTF-8 support
* Migration from older versions (including vtiger 5.0.4RC) to vtiger 5.0.4
* Security fixes and SOAP vulnerability testing
* Office, Outlook, Thunderbird, Firefox Plugins and Customer Portal

Please keep us updated with your feedback or any issues you notice.

Our demo server, http://en.vtiger.com/wip has been updated with this
validation build and can be used for testing.

Good Afternoon to All,

Now I try for Vtiger Installation  in My Friend System, that system is linux
Upuntu.
But I it Give Some Errors,

like this

"Key column 'tabid' doesn't exist in tableError: Tables partially created.
Table creation failed."

How I resolved that problem, Please help for me,

Hi,

Here are some possible ways to restrict access for a field for user (who is
non-admin).

1. In profile, uncheck  View All and Edit All options.
2. Disable the field access for the modules in it.

Hello everybody,

First a big huge "THANK YOU" to the vTiger team, this release is a big step
forward, so many improvments.. I am now playing with it and I really enjoy!

I would like to talk about qualifying emails, when I do so, it creates a new
contact which contains the corresponding email. The problem is if I receive
again an email from the same contact, if I qualify again the email, it will
create again the contact as new.
Instead of this behaviour I would like to look up if the email already
exists in contact details and if it is the case, just add the email to the
contact.

I had a look in the log and could trace the bahaviour till
"insertIntoEntityTable Contacts vtiger_table name vtiger_contactdetails"
(method located in crmentity) but so far I cannot find the code between this
method and the button "qualify" on the webmail menu.

My question:
Does anybody could tell me where to find the code executed when I press
"Qualify" button? I can find "add_to_vtiger" method (in webmail.js) but
cannot figure out where to go from there.

A little help would be really appreciated.

I had some issues upgrading to 5.04 and I'm trying to restore back to 5.03.
I have a sql dump that I did from phpmyadmin and a copy of the file
structure prior to the upgrade 

 

How do I go about restoring my copy and starting over on the upgrade? In
particular, what is the command line syntax for the restore?

Hi Clem,

Thanks for your interest in vtigerCRM.

When clicking on the Qualify button "modules/Webmails/Save.php" file will be
called to create a new Contact and to relate the Qualified Email to this
Contact. You have to modify the code in this file to check whether the
contact is already present, if exist then you have to relate the Email to
that particular contact.

Please get back to us for more information.

Hi Scott Brown,

Good to know that yo have the dump of your database as well as the file
structure.

Follow the steps below to restore back your 5.0.3 setup:

1. Copy back your file structure to original location.
2. Create a new database with the same name which you were using for
5.0.3setup. (If the database already exists, please drop and re-create
it)
3. Import the sql dump file into this newly created database.

Now try accessing your CRM in the same way as you used to do before.

Let me know if you are facing any issues.

Hi guys,

Thanks a lot Srini to point me in the good direction, I think I found out
what the problem was about:

In Webmails.php in the "function Webmails($mbox='',$mailid='')" a statment
is missing "$this->relationship = $this->find_relationships();"
By adding this line to the function I can qualify emails to an existing
contact instead of creating the contact again.

Tell me if it works for other people,

Each are a little different and thoroughly confused me at the time - 
it's bad enough playing about with your precious database on the best of 
days..... !!

Would it be worth someone casting an eye over these and 'unifying' them ?

Hi Mike,

It will be better to cross check your phpinfo page whether the
php.inichanges affected properly and make sure you have restarted you
webserver(apache) after the php.ini changes. If not please restart your
apache and try again.

Hi Michael,

Make sure you have set:
allow_call_time_pass_reference = On
in your php configuration and is in effect.

You can write the following php script to know the variables of php
configuration that is in use:

<?php
phpinfo();
?>

Please make sure to restart your apache server after you make changes to php
configuration.

I'm using vtiger CRM 5.0.4 with Russian language Pack.

I've noticed a bug in "\modules\Leads\ListViewTop.php" on line 115:

	$Top_Leads = (strlen($lead['leadname']) > 20) ?
(substr($lead['leadname'],0,20).'...') : $lead['leadname'];

Neither "substr" nor "strlen" work correct with Unicode chars.

I found a solution, to use mb_strlen and mb_substr. Is it suitable to use
this functions or there are some other suggestions how to fix it?

To use mb_strlen and mb_substr you need to enable mb_string php extension.

Also check out this library: http://phputf8.sourceforge.net/ which has
wrapper functions: http://phputf8.sourceforge.net/#String_Functions

I'm translating VtigerCRM 5.0.4 to Russian and have such question.
 I can't find in translation files a record like 's !' that goes like 
plural for records like Leads, Contacts and so on on the module page 
when there are no records in the system. Everything else is changed but 
this record I can't find in language files. As I guess this is written 
in some system files.

Can anybody advice my where I can find this record and change it?
