[Vtigercrm-developers] why does purchase orders link tocontacts?

Unless I completely misunderstand things, Vendor’s are my suppliers who I purchase stock from. Which is fine, but I also need to say/link who I am purchasing the stock for, as we work on a Just-In-Time Inventory System. So when I order stock I order it for a particular Company/Account. We do not order it for a specific Contact at the company/Account.
A simple way round it would be to create a default user called “Purchase Orders” for every Account, but that would leave me with a lot of extra accounts that are not really needed or used for anything else. I would prefer to be able to simply link the Purchase Order to an Account.

Hi Steven,
In Purchase order, we have the Vendor field to represent the Company. You can manage Vendors from the Inventory->Vendors page.

Is there any particular reason for this or is this just a feature lacking?
