[Vtigercrm-developers] Adding Modules

Hi all

After working through 
http://wiki.vtiger.com/index.php/Creating_New_Module for half a day 
(making it to 2.6 by now) I just have one question left: Is this the 
only way to do it? And what happens when I upgrade to 5.0.3? It seems 
like I need to do changes in most of the core components of vtiger to 
get this module in.
